Oh how I love thee..
I am in love.
With Boot Camp.
Seriously, love it.
Can hardly get enough.
I try to go 5 days a week because I love it. The best part, I love the people that are at boot camp too. We are all there to challenge ourselves and it’s just so much fun. I don’t miss running; hardly ever actually think about running. And you know what; my hips thank me for that. I am going to start running again soon – I have a 10K in August to get ready for. I am going to run the Women Rock 10K with my best friend Melissa.
I really wish that every person I know could come to boot camp with me at least once so they could experience the awesomeness that is boot camp. There are a lot of places out there that offer boot camp and I will say I am pretty confident I have found one of the best ones. Kelly and Jay, the owners of Altman Fitness, are the real deal. They care about their boot campers and treat them like family. Last night some of us got together for some outside of class socializing – it was so great. There are some folks that have been going to Altman for a long time and the connection they all have is so amazing. I can’t wait until I have been there a little longer and develop those kinds of relationships. I have a couple of friends already that I clicked with from the beginning and love to get to know them even better!
I think I am at a place on my healthiness journey where things are clicking again. After the marathons last year I felt really lost. I had accomplished things that I never thought possible but in the meantime lost so much ground on my weight loss. I have started losing again – with the help of boot camp and some diet changes. I am not “dieting” but learning to navigate through eating more whole foods, less carbs (bread, pasta, grains, etc) and sugar.
Most importantly I feel good about where I am at and where I am headed. I am not satisfied, but that is what keeps me motivated. My first goal is to get back to where I was last year at this time. I am trying not to focus solely on the scale, but for now, that is how I am measuring the bulk of my progress. I feel fit, I am able to do a lot of things in boot camp that I don’t think I could have done a year ago.
I am back…
Be Happy and Healthy Friends!
